Project LIFT is a non-profit organization that provides therapy to at-risk teens and young adults through the unique platform of vocational training. At no cost, 14-24 year-old young men and women engage in hands on training in skilled trades while licensed therapists provide mental health counseling and substance abuse treatment. This strategy, which we call “Therapy Under the Hood of a Car” features skilled mentors in auto repair, HVAC, welding, carpentry & construction, and more! Our apprentice style paid training in the skilled trades allows for job placement and a pathway to economic self-sufficiency. We also offer an on-site fully accredited high school diploma program. Project LIFT is dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk teens and their families through treatment of substance use disorders, mental health counseling, mentoring, and vocational skills training. It is our goal to connect more deeply with businesses and other service providers in Belle Glade, so that we can foster relationships and partnerships that can benefit both the youth we serve and the businesses in the community. More than 3000 young men and women have benefited from Project LIFT programming across Martin, St. Lucie, and Palm Beach Counties.
