Greetings Greater Wellington Chamber Members,
Twenty-one years ago, we moved to Wellington and began rebuilding—starting a law practice during the height of the Great Real Estate Recession. Not knowing anyone in the area, I reached out to the Chamber and was invited to a happy hour at what was then “Nicole’s”. That evening, I made a connection with someone who would become a great friend—a realtor whose work complemented mine as a recovering real estate attorney. It was the beginning of something truly meaningful.
Through my involvement with the Chamber, I built countless relationships, many of which remain strong today. The key, I found, was not simply joining, but actively engaging. I participated in committees, attended and sponsored events, and eventually had the privilege of chairing several committees. Within a few years, I was invited to join the Board of Directors and later served as President for the 2012–2013 term.
The result of that involvement went far beyond professional growth. In addition to forming lasting friendships, my law practice flourished—and I have never looked back.
I encourage each of you to take that same step. Connect with Michela Green, our Executive Director, and allow her to help you find a committee that aligns with your strengths and interests. While we are all busy, the time you invest in Chamber luncheons, mixers, and special events will yield lasting and meaningful returns.
Get involved—you’ll be glad you did.
