<p>I urge you all to GET INVOLVED!!!  Please review the Chamber 101 presentation on the Chamber website.  You will receive a quick overview of the regular and special events produced by the Chamber’s spectacular Executive Director and her staff as well as the standing committees of the Chamber and how you can get involved.  PLEASE GET INVOLVED!  The opportunities from Ambassadors, Business and Economic Development, Equestrian, Government Affairs, Medical and Wellness, Small Business, and Technology, are amazing.  You would be amazed at what you can learn about what is going on in your own community by attending any one of these committee meetings.</p>
<p>Most importantly, “The” Wellington Chamber of Commerce is about you and the place you live, work and play.  Our mission is first and foremost about fostering and maintaining a vibrant climate for business to grow and be successful.  We are at the forefront of some of the most important issues affecting business in Wellington by working with elected officials and city staff to recruit new businesses to Wellington and to protect our existing businesses and facilities including those that make us The Equestrian Capital of the World!</p>
<p>At the luncheon at which we were all sworn in I asked the members present to do me one favor.  I will ask you the same thing now.  I want to hear from YOU!!!  This Chamber is about you and without your input, it cannot possibly represent you as effectively as possible.  I want your ideas, your thoughts, you input.  What would you like to see us do that we are not doing?  What do you think we could be doing better?  All thoughts and ideas from you, the members of the Chamber are important to me and I want let you know that I want to hear from you.</p>
<p>Last year we were proud of the fact that the Village of Wellington was the 72<sup>nd</sup> Best Place to Live in America.  But, while we were proud and pleased, you are not prepared to rest on past glories.  “The” Wellington Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping to make the Village of Wellington the No. 1 Place to Live in America, and we can get there with your help.</p>

<p align="center"><strong>Wellington Principal Planner Bill Nemser key note speaker  </strong></p>
<p>The WellingtonChamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce Bill Nemser, Wellington Principal Planner as key note speaker of the May 23<sup>rd</sup> luncheon.  Attendees will learn about the planned Medical Arts District.  In addition members will have the opportunity to meet and hear from Jerel T. Humphrey, the Chief Executive Officer of Wellington Regional Medical Center as well as Eric Goldman, Chief Executive Officer of Palms West Hospital.</p>
<p><strong>The Wellington Medical Arts District is </strong>located on the northwest corner of State Road 7 and Forest Hill Boulevard, the 208 acre Medical Arts District will create employment and educational opportunities focused on medically-related uses and anchored by Wellington Regional Medical Center.</p>
<p>Projected to create or retain approximately 6,000 professional and technical jobs, the Medical Arts District is all about employment and educational opportunities.  The District will create an integrated campus consisting of 2.3 million square feet of a hospital, medical and professional offices, technical and research space, educational institutions, research and development facilities, laboratories as well as residential dormitories and congregate living facilities.</p>
<p><strong>Bill Nemser </strong>is the Principal Planner forWellington, Fl. Bill is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and holds both Masters and Bachelor’s degrees in Urban and Regional Planning fromFloridaAtlanticUniversity where he was awarded an Environmental Growth Management Fellowship from the Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions. Bill was named the Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association’s Outstanding Student Planner of the year in 2004. He is a LEED (Leadership in Energy &amp; Environmental Design) Accredited Professional certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.</p>
<p><strong>Jerel T. Humphrey</strong> is the Chief Executive Officer of Wellington Regional Medical Center. Mr. Humphrey brings over 20 years of leadership experience toWellingtonRegionalMedicalCenter, most recently having served as CEO of Danville Regional Medical Center inDanville,Va.  His longest tenure as Chief Executive Officer was served with the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System inHouston,Texas, a not-for-profit corporation operating eleven acute care hospitals in southeastTexas.  Over this 15-year period, he successfully led operations atMemorialHermannSouthwestHospital,MemorialHermannCityHospital andMemorialHermannNorthwestHospital.</p>
<p><strong>Eric Goldman</strong> recently joinedPalmsWestHospital in March 2012, as the Chief Executive Officer.  Eric came to Palms West fromMemorialHospital inJacksonville, an affiliateHCA facility, where he was the Chief Operating Officer since 2006.  Eric has 17 years of  healthcare experience withHCA.  Prior to moving toJacksonville, Eric was Chief Operating Officer atColumbiaHospital inWest Palm Beach.  Eric received his Bachelor’s degree atOhioUniversity inAthens,Ohio and a Masters of Health Science in Health Finance Management at The John Hopkins University inBaltimore,Maryland. He is looking forward to working with the Wellington Chamber and getting involved in the community.</p>

<p>The Wellington Chamber of Commerce Flavors 2012 was once again a smashing Success.  Our event attracted over 900 + attendees!  We wish to thank our host venue, our chairmen and host committee, our vendors, our sponsors, our members, our volunteers and our residents for this success!</p>
<p>FLAVORS of Wellington brings together the best of the best Wellington Chamber Restaurants/Catering Venues/Wholesale and Gourmet Markets as well as Country Clubs who showcase their businesses, products, menus and exceptional service staff.  This event could hot happen without their participation and we are so grateful to each of them for joining us on Friday evening!</p>
<p>Each year our attendees enjoy an evening of dining and dancing to Music Masters International 20- Piece Stage Band – we literally receive calls 5 months in advance each year with people hoping to see the Music Masters International Band.  Their unique music makes this event unlike any other!   THANK YOU TO W4CY and DEAN PIPER for live coverage of this event!</p>
<p>Congratulations to our “winners” of the Evening-  The Stables at the Wanderers Club -“Best Taste”, Binks Forest Golf Club-“Best Plate Presentation”,  Johnson’s Custom Cakes and More -“Best Display” and BannaStrows –“Best Dessert” and all our fantastic showcase vendors ; Alice B. <p>The Event Staff at Equestrian Sport Productions are nothing less than superb.  Without the exceptional generosity of the Bellissimo&#8217;s and the logistical expertise of Vaneli Bojkova and the exemplary event staff at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, this event could not be possible.  This group of consummate professionals allowed this evening to happen without fail and our gratitude to them is beyond measure.</p>
